@desantbt @Tarik_ElBashir I agree they need to do something about the future for building goalies but those goalies are from a different era. We lost the goalie coach for hotlby and surely for the other 2. We have had a lot of good in hershey not at the nhl level and thats something to address

@desantbt @Tarik_ElBashir Fucale was in the organization for nearly 3 years and had a much better record and stats. Failed. Samsonov and vitek. 7 and 8 years with similar stats and NHL games. Failed. Almost a waste of time but enjoyed them both just like clay. You gotta develop goalies but not all pan out

@desantbt @Tarik_ElBashir Yep thats unfortunately business. But just bc you find someone and develop them doesnt mean theyre going to pay off. The “weird tangents” about past goalies couldnt be any more relevant as they have basically the same upside and had more back then but still crumbled.

@desantbt @Tarik_ElBashir Lindgren would have more upside if clay was still on the caps. Now that clay has a chance at backup on a team that needs one he may play decent and have more upside. The caps werent going to change his career. Fucale wouldve been our allstar goalie for the deal in your books

Yes that age gap does not really matter especially when one has NHL experience and the other with minimal.
Lindgren is 2 inches smaller and the same weight plus he has shown he can play that game

@desantbt @Tarik_ElBashir Younger doesnt really mean much for goaltending, cheaper is marginal especially with where the cap is. And maybe a higher upside maybe not but nothing to go crazy over. He’s 3-2 in the league and none of those games were breakout performances. Samsonov and Vitek offered more imo

@GrahfXeno @Tarik_ElBashir His salary is actually pretty good for goaltenders with an actual established career. There are many backups and even a couple starters he would have filled in for if he was waived and inevitably claimed. Acting like 3 mil is a bad deal in this era is bonkers
