His 192 in Hobart 2007 may be more famous, but these 2 hundreds from @kumarsanga2 in New Zealand in 2006 were better.
100* out of 170 in a fighting loss and 156* out of 268 to help SL win their 2nd ever Test in NZ!
On his 43rd birthday @Cricvestigate looks in 2 parts at @KumarSanga2's two superb tons on SL’s 2006 tour to NZ.
100* at Christchurch & 156* at Wellington in trying conditions.
These classy tons symbolised his transition from a good keeper bat to a great specialist batsman.

@AatifNawaz Very bad take I’m afraid. Wasim is an absolute legend and great while Afridi was just a utility player - handy leg spinner and v attacking bat who was hit and miss. Wasim is tiers ahead of Afridi who wouldn’t make a Pakistan all time 11.
@CaribCricket Yes but they are much better & actually win Test matches now.
They beat Pakistan at home and drew a series in New Zealand. The last time that England and Australia went there they were unable to win the series.
@CaribCricket It’s not once in a blue moon.
Take Bangladesh. They were given Test status in 2000, but in 1st decade they won only 1 Test vs Zim & 2 Tests against WI 2nd 11.
But by continuous exposure with the bigger teams they have become the far more competitive team you see now.
Rally round the West Indies - what a Test win!!
This team are competitive enough and will here and there produce Test wins like this. 2 divisions is crazy.
Abysmal idea. How will this attract more crowds and funding for the teams in tier 2 and how can you improve if you don’t regularly play the best?
A team like WI, despite struggling, can win the odd Test vs stronger teams. Eng hasn’t won there since 2004.

BREAKING: ICC, BCCI, ECB and CA to meet to take a decision on two-tier Test cricket system.
In one tier, the top 5 teams will play each other, and in the second, other teams will compete against each other.
This will make the game more competitive and attract more crowds to the Test.
There have been consistent signs that when top teams play each other, they attract more crowds, while when two teams of different calibre play, they attract less attention.
@srini_r_twit @rav_man0 And as Rav showed, because Tests are 5 days it’s very unlikely you run out of time to bowl a side out. Your bowling SR doesn’t need to be particularly good to do that.
@srini_r_twit @rav_man0 Bowling average is simply a combination of bowling strike rate & economy rate. SR doesn’t tell you the economy rate so it’s 2nd order.
You win a Test match by bowling a side out for fewer runs than you scored, hence it’s the runs conceded per wicket ie avg that’s key.
@LoverWmma91150 That his style of play.
Salman has played excellently. But on another day some of those sixes he went for could have resulted in a cheap dismissal (and would have had Woakes caught it, which he nearly did).
I don’t understand this obsession with batting strike rates in a Test match. It’s got so bad that Saud Shakeel is getting flack for scoring 82 & ensuring Pakistan get to 450.
