Because the decent public services never come. The more we spend, the worse they get.
To highlight just one area... we're a nation that spends hundreds of millions NOT to build tunnels.
£179m on the Stonehenge tunnel, despite not a single metre being dug.
£300m on a planning application for the Lower Thames Crossing which spanned 359,000 pages. £1bn gone, just like that, before a spade had even touched the ground.
£2.1bn written off on the HS2 leg that will never get built.
The tax burden is heading for the highest level since records began. Now look around and tell me what it's bought us.
Nobody resents decent public services, or paying for them for that matter. They resent paying for them multiple times over, and never receiving them.
The money was spent. So where are the decent public services?
Polish PM: "In May 1939, a certain French politician -a future Nazi collaborator - asked in the French press: 'Why die for Gdańsk?'
A few months later, all of Europe was dying. To those who today say this is not our war, I offer that lesson of history."
The goal isn’t to retire and never work again.
The goal is to never HAVE to work on something you hate again.
Financial freedom isn’t freedom from work.
It’s freedom to choose what deserves your time.
That’s a much better goal.
i’m afraid of KYC and you should be too.
KYC is a risk to your personal safety.
collecting personal information in the age of cyber security breaches everywhere is extremely irresponsible. and it’s not going to get any better any time soon.
our laws shouldn’t require institutions to KYC, they should prevent them from doing so.
institutions that leak KYC information or fail to defend it from hackers should be punished by the law for risking their user’s safety.
