Privately build a secure bitcoin signing device for less than most HWWs (all software/designs are FOSS). GPG: 4673 9B74 B56A D88F 14B0 882E C7EF 7090 0726 0119
Important info about our project's security model.
TLDR: Releases are only published in our official repo, and make sure to verify your downloads as authentic.
You are the software authenticity assurance.
The foundation of @SeedSigner's security model relies on users taking on the responsibility to ensure they are running valid software -- because we use off-the-shelf parts, the hardware will run any code that you load on it.
Instructions on downloading and cryptographically validating that you have our released software can be found at:
https://t.co/evpi3wvPlm
The ONLY place where we release binaries is in our Github repo:
https://t.co/6hRaTyKchT
The project's PGP key that has been published on multiple platforms can be found at:
https://t.co/mZhYxIbTHL
Our software releases are deterministic and can also be built from source to validate our released binaries. Building from source is not as difficult as you would think, instructions can be found at:
https://t.co/aDJ1zQAt4I
We also have an awesome community in our Telegram channel where you can find earnest help should you need it with any of the above:
https://t.co/NgNrGhIlXJ
Note that Telegram is not perfect and impostors may DM you offering help -- any technical help from Telegram should happen **out in the open** within the main community chat.
inspired by @DesobedienteTec , i built my own @SeedSigner from an R36S. dont mind the camers, its just what I could put together with what i had at home it will works with any usb camera.
watch until the end

Ever since we took down the blockclock. Citadel coffee lacks a dedicated block clock.
So with a soare pi and an e ink screen (13") we created an automatically updating hourly newspaper showing blockheight and clock.
Now to print a good looking frame for it.

Yowza, reading dice rolls w/@SeedSigner camera!
What a formula:
* Go to @tabconf (moar, please @miketwenty1).
* Demo proposed feature to us in person.
* Attend my workshop, get esp32-P4 hardware.
* Build an even better version!
I'm super impressed, @onedigitmoney!
2 years ago I was tinkering with the first prototype of the “Plus” board.
The goal was to upgrade the physical experience of using a @SeedSigner — larger screen for easier reading and better QR xfer, drop the stabby nub for a DPAD, swap microUSB for USBC and get the cord out of the way, and make interfacing with the microSD slot easier. And then bringing the pill shape back was a bonus win.
Myself, @KeithMukai and a Noderunner called “MadBo” (who was also the co-creator of the BTClock) agonized over the specs, sizing and layout for the board. We must have gotten some of the details right because thousands of them have been deployed to bitcoiners around the world, and I think I can safely say that the majority of them have not been produced or sold by me. The design has also been forked to accommodate smart cards, batteries, and in one case, both.
Although open sourcing both the board design as well as the reference enclosure wasn’t the most lucrative path, it was the best one because it’s allowed the magic of the SeedSigner project to make it into the hands of many more people than it might have otherwise, while also materially upgrading their experience of using a signer.
We have much more in store wrt open software AND hardware development with the planned support for microcontroller architectures, but every once in a while it’s fun to glance in the rear view mirror and reflect a little on how far we’ve come. 🧡
It's exciting to see more SeedSigner posts coming from Chinese users over the last few weeks -- that is one of the parts of the world where I think the project has the most potential to make an impact.
In this video, I demonstrate how someone can establish control over a given Bitcoin address using @SeedSigner and @Trezor. @SparrowWallet is of course the wallet coordinator of choice.
Bitcoin message signing provides independently verifiable evidence without moving a single sat.
Showing a Bitcoin balance doesn't prove you control the keys.
This is super relevant for SMSF custody, auditors and proof-of-reserves work.
@hk_collins@RichLassiterMD@SeedSigner@ALewin@tabconf Also: The esp32-P4 is just the first microcontroller. We'll be able to expand across other esp32 offerings and laterally to other microcontroller ecosystems (e.g. stm32, rp2350, etc).
In the next ~2-3 years: @SeedSigner will run on almost any hardware (within reason).
What's the big deal about the @SeedSigner MicroPython port?
The most important aspect: we'd go from ONE must-have piece of hardware (Pi Zero) to eventually an almost unlimited world of possibilities.
This list is just the beginning.

@eyevibecode All you ever needed is a @SeedSigner
Starless signer was and is the way a sovereign individuals manages and broadcasts his UTXOs.
