I dont think people realize how consistent a dev team has to be to CONSTANTLY roll out updates and patches every 2 weeks and keep the community updated. If theres one thing Riot is theyre CONSISTENT. Most games rarely get as many patches as league does on weekly basis. Ty Riot🐏

So I tried WASD and I feel like most people are completely missing the point. If you are used to Mouse + Keyboard setup it will almost never be worth it for you to switch to WASD.

WASD is primarily designed to fix the new player pipeline, which is the most important league issue currently. Every change Riot is prioritizing currently is about bringing in new blood. WASD, smart camera, jungle becoming more user friendly and redesigning the tutorial.

Initially they said that WASD will not force people to switch, which I thought was an obvious lie, because it's impossible that all champs are better or equal on Classic input system but they already nerfed the WASD.

If champions arise that are broken on WASD like Kog maw, Kalista, Jinx etc... Riot will just add artificial delay on high attack speed. If kiting is superb and gives a clear edge they will just add artificial delay. Currently the lobby group for Classical input is infinitely higher than WASD, so Riot will do everything to not alienate the current player base.

I've seen so many people panic, talking about quitting and saying that they've wasted years learning how to play and now it's negated, but it's clearly an overreaction.

In my opinion WASD is a big success, it is bound to make headlines, broaden league appeal and create a new influx of fresh players. Not to mention that it provides a massive QoL and ease of access improvement to high ping players.

There is one potential danger lurking in the future and ironically it scales with the success of the WASD scheme. In the case that in brings a lot of new players, they will follow the path of most of us and want to play ranked very shortly. This will force Riot's hand to hasten it's WASD ranked release which can cause problems unless it's fine tuned and very well balanced.
