NIGHTBORNE is the first full test AI film I have made. It was made using Seedance 2.0.

I've been experimenting with AI for a couple of years, and it's now at the point where I want to tackle a full feature in this format. This is a 13-minute test start.

It was made with real concept artists, and features the faces and voices of 32 real people.

Barley Studios will be my new AI studio for creating my own films, the way Oats Studios was for traditional film and VFX. @Barleystudiosai

"It’s funny when you look at the films you’ve made and how they parallel your life. You get married, and then you make a film in which that relationship is important. You have kids, and then you find yourself making films about trying to get home for your kids. I had never had a dog, and a few years ago, we got our first dog as the kids were leaving for college. They were kind of bitter about it. They’d always wanted a dog, and we’d never been able to have one because we were traveling too much. And coming to 'The Odyssey,' it’s the ultimate dog movie. So I was definitely better prepared to take on the ultimate dog movie having become a dog owner."

If we can send people to space, we can figure out how to build more @IMAX 70mm projectors.

I keep hearing that new ones can’t be built because of the cost and how long it’s been since they were manufactured, but none of those explanations make much sense to me.

Every theater playing The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm is sold out. Demand is incredible with people driving hours or even flying to a theater.

You want to get more people into movie theaters? Give them an experience they cannot replicate at home. IMAX 70mm is that experience.

Obviously, not every movie should be shot in IMAX 70mm. Only very select films warrant it.

But adding more screens and projectors would also create opportunities to bring older movies back from time to time. There are so many films I’d love to experience again on a massive IMAX screen, but they’re rarely given the chance to return.

You can tell the losers who were trying to tank the RT audience score without even watching the movie have run out of "ballots," because the non-verified rating started at 82% last night and has since climbed to 88% in the last ~12 hours. This is why I always make the case review bombing has its limits when you get a larger sample size.

Metacritic tends to have lower sample sizes and is much easier to manipulate. You'd think a review logging site that goes out of its way to be strict in who gets into their critic samples would try to address this issue already.

The fact that Hollywood can make a movie like this, even now, is enough to redeem an industry that has really struggled over the past decade or so, perhaps even getting lost along the way.

Just saw The Odyssey.

I will never understand how he can take a message and blow it to such a grand scale like he does. Like the dude is a legit genius of storytelling.

There were some changes in the story that I was confused about, but by the end I’m reminded why to never doubt this dude.

Now that THE ODYSSEY seems to be opening the higher end of optimistic expectations, we can expect the online grifters to pivot to crediting its success to story beats and imagery they can label Conservative-coded, and because of the absence of explicit LGBTQIA-specific material.
