Some great theme tunes mentioned in the comments! Cheers is good but so is…
Starfleet, Ulysses 31, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Dogtanian, Jamie & the Magic Torch, Littlest Hobo, Fraggle Rock, True Blood, Golden Girls, Moonlighting, MASH. I also quite like Antiques Roadshow!
This morning, I overheard this exchange between a husband and wife:
Husband visits a charity fundraising stall and returns with a book.
Wife tuts in a weary voice ‘do you really need that?’
Husband replied ‘yes, I always need books’.
Made me smile. Books FTW!
Every year I buy a few #WorldBookDay books to support the initiative. Opened one this morning, what a lovely book dedication… this is EXACTLY why I read for pleasure! Made me smile. @NotAgainBen @WorldBookDayUK
This is also your occasional reminder that if Agatha Christie had made A Caribbean Mystery a Poirot story (instead of a Marple story) then it could have been called Poirots of the Caribbean.
@HelenD132 We waited for the side veg to arrive… nothing came… we asked… and were told this was it. We’ve been before on Xmas day and there was side veg, I’m guessing they’ve cut down due to increased costs of raw materials.
@fesshole You could do a lot worse than Lovejoy. Watching it is a family tradition, here. I like the episode where they rescue Tinker’s sister’s hotel.
@anon_opin It definitely works on ulcers. My mom had a nasty one and compression stockings weren’t really helping. We started applying M.Honey to the wound and it soon closed up. Brilliant stuff.
On the train coming home from the Manchester campus. Passing through Stockport station, I spied this booky poster on the platform. Made me laugh. Good marketing!
Not sure how I’ve missed this titbit of info, but just noticed @OrkneyLibrary’s mobile library van is called #BookyMcBookFace. I love the humour this account shows in its tweets.
