The simplest possible way is to use SDR and record signal transmitted by any passing satellite (e.g. ISS, Meteor-M). Then you can measure Doppler frequency and from that estimate the velocity. You could also use radars for this (passive or active)

@fillagrew@F5OEOEvariste@MehdiHacks@Kyrannio From what I've heard it has huge issues with noise coming from the Ethernet that you need for higher bandwidth. Unless it's another chinesium model that might have fixed it (I doubt it)
@MehdiHacks@Kyrannio The spurs themselves aren't that big of a problem tbh. It just limits the frequency range if someone wants to use high gain.
Also, what SDR offers 72dB gain. If someone needs that much they should use external LNA imo.
@MehdiHacks@Kyrannio This is how it looks like with 56 dB gain and no antenna. Spurs at second input at this channel are half of that and above 1 GHz they disappear.
@MehdiHacks@Kyrannio The only downside is that at some gain (iirc ~13 dB) it looks like it switches LNA paths and at around 20-25 dB multiple spurs appear. For low bandwidth it's not a problem but for 56 MHz it looks kinda bad. On the other hand who needs >50dB gain in chinesium SDR.
