@jmaza86@iSinGaming You wouldn't have won two world wars if not for the many nations who held the front years before the USA became involved.
American exceptionalism is ridiculous.
1 single person doesn’t make a team of 11 but we all know that.
The statement about “our best athletes” is becoming increasingly less true but for a long time it wasn’t.
The truth is elite athletes in the US have a number of sports to pursue which lessens the number playing any single sport.
Coupled with a culture that wasn’t soccer first is why it held true for a long time.
As Chad Johnson has said, had he grown up in a soccer first culture he would have played soccer over football.
It would have absolutely made a difference over the last 30 years.
If our best athletes played soccer…
They do!

Kyle Rote Jr.
Some know him as the first American-born player to lead the NASL in scoring and a U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer. But few realize he repeatedly proved he was arguably the most complete all-around athlete on the planet.
Rote won ABC’s Superstars competition three times (1974, 1976, 1977), defeating elite athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, track & field, tennis, skiing and more. The event tested every aspect of athleticism—speed, strength, endurance, agility, coordination and skill—not just excellence in one sport.
He beat household names such as O.J. Simpson, Pete Rose, Julius Erving, Lynn Swann and many other champions. At a time when the best athletes from every major sport competed head-to-head, Kyle Rote Jr. kept coming out on top.

So can we just agree to stop the ridiculous comments.

It will need to change its model for kids. The costs for a child to play soccer every year are 3-6k a year, whereas in the UK and other European countries it is nowhere near that. In fact, you get brought into the academies for nothing.
BIN = Buy It Now 🛒
It’s the fixed-price button that lets you grab a card instantly instead of bidding and sweating out a 7-day auction.
Sellers love it because it locks in the sale.
Buyers love it when the price is right and they don’t have to fight anyone for it.
Here’s the move: when you spot a BIN priced under market, don’t add it to your watchlist.
Someone else is watching too, and the best deals get bought in minutes. If the number makes sense, hit the button.
Are you a BIN buyer or an auction grinder? Drop it below 👇
SET PIECE: a scoring chance from a stopped-ball restart like a corner or free kick.
Day 6 proof: Norway buried a Martin Odegaard corner, Austria’s winner came off one too. ⚽
Set pieces decide tournaments.

📖 HOBBY DICTIONARY: PARALLEL
A version of a base card with a different color, finish, or foil pattern — usually printed in limited quantities.
Parallels can be rarer and more valuable than the base, and many are serial-numbered (think /99, /25, /10, 1/1).
Going 3-for-3 on your last breaks doesn’t mean the product is hot. Going 0-for-5 doesn’t mean it’s cold.
That’s variance, not strategy.
Flip a coin 5 times and you might get 4 heads. Flip it 500 times and it settles toward the truth. Breaks work the same way.
Small sample = noise. Big sample = signal.
My son and I were training at the CREC one night, right after the Union trade, and saw a lone guy in NYCFC gear with a bunch of guys from the Union.
My son, who is a goalie, was sure the lone guy in NYCFC gear was @Matty_Ice49. They were all getting in some extra training on a cold winter night.
To now see him now leading the @USMNT is amazing but not 100% surprising. Coach Joe always told my son about how hard Matt worked.
Hope all the local players see it as an example of someone who continued to believe in himself and continually worked to improve.
