HDFC fixed this in Dec 2025 by disabling name changes in Regalia Gold. HSBC also reversed third-party transfers.

Accor still has a loophole—bank-to-Accor transfers don’t match names, allowing points to be routed to others. Banks tightened their side; Accor needs to fix theirs.

Banks need to fix one thing: transfers to third parties for money.

Selling points needs to stop. It would cut down a lot of the manufactured spend and earning happening today.

What Gujarat witnessed in this incident is deeply shameful. Throughout the entire 4-minute video, not a single person showed humanity, and no one dared to step forward and stop the continuous assault.

That silence is perhaps the most disturbing part of the incident.
