Akasa Elevate redemptions are now live ✈️

Akasa Air launched its first loyalty programme, Elevate, in August, and you could only earn points until now. Redemption has just switched on, so points can finally be used to pay down your fare.

How earning works, on base fare plus fuel surcharge:
Bronze (free to join): 8 points per Rs 100
Silver: 10 per Rs 100, at Rs 75,000 spend or 6 flights a year
Gold: 12 per Rs 100, at Rs 1.25 lakh or 15 flights
Platinum: 14 per Rs 100, at Rs 2.5 lakh or 30 flights
Book direct on the Akasa site or app and every tier earns 4 extra points per Rs 100.

When you redeem, points come off the base fare plus fuel surcharge, and early checks put the value at roughly 50 paise a point. Points stay alive as long as you earn or redeem once in 24 months, and flights you took from 1 April 2026 can be claimed after you enrol.

Japan Airlines awards are bookable with Asia Miles again ✈️

Cathay Pacific lost access to JAL award space earlier this month, but the issue is now fixed and Asia Miles work for JAL flights again, in all cabins.

Worth knowing: how long this lasts is unclear, and JAL awards booked this way carry fairly high carrier surcharges, so check the cash component before you transfer points in.

Useful from India: JAL flies Delhi and Bengaluru to Tokyo, so Asia Miles are back on the table for Japan trips.
