finally getting to take the block button for a spin with any folks who think this strike is unreasonable
we’ve been getting our asses kick... https://t.co/c6wY7OvXJO
About to start a solo run on THE FORGOTTEN AGE in ARKHAM HORROR: LCG. Never played it.
Starting with the “Return to…” because I heard it was recommended.
But I’m also doing true solo with my first-ever Mystic deck (Luke), which is NOT recommended. 🤷🏻♀️
Here we goooooo 🌳 🐍 🔮
Completed my *very* unsuccessful run at RETURN TO THE FORGOTTEN AGE. Went insane on the antepenultimate scenario. If I hadn’t been using Luke, it would have been even less successful though, so I guess that’s… a win? Yeah. I think I’ll record this as a “win.”
@DiceAndNames Hard mode? Ha ha. No. Easy all day, baby. I like having fun.
But lots of AH nerds say that this “Return to…” is maybe the only one that you should consider to have fixed the original so much as to make it the new primary version, so I’m heeding that.
Board Game Twitter (is there a board game twitter? there must be), I need help. I want to get my wife a board game for xmas. She loves Azul, Sagrada, calming artistic games like that. Nothing horror. Tokaido was recommended but is impossible to find and expensive. Any recs?
@AsmadiGames Oh, I *love* when people upgrade their games.
And WOTR is of course playable, but (for me!) frustrating enough to render it not-fun. I’ve always known I’d love the game, but have NEVER enjoyed it as much as I did last night, with clearly identifiable pieces.
I considered it, but I have zero a) painting knowledge b) painting skills c) paint
And also, this was wholly satisfying. Same game, except zero frustration trying to identify each piece every time I needed to. Didn’t miss the pieces one whit.
I like chunky plastic armies as much as the next guy. But I have downgraded my copy of WAR OF THE RING, and it makes 1000x sense to my eyeballs this way.
@OregonPatrick@WatchItPlayed No, I just counted the units in the game and ordered substitutions from @MeepleSource. Cubes for regulars, discs for elites, and cylinders for leaders. If I were to do it again, I might go with “octagons” for elites. (And if I did that, I might use the discs for leaders instead)
