In my opinion ever since the tiny desk came out two things happened at the same time - people really saw cardi in a raw form and in that rawest form displayed her real talent, the work she did on herself and her craft and it upped her stock. The second thing was the forced hate train has added extra trains. Like literally every little thing is - well on this app - has been scrutinized or faked gagged. Think pieces on a watch, supporting yt women who hunted black women down in her videos just to “spite” Cardi. It’s pathetic but iconic. All that hate just proved that Cardi is here to stay and is seated firmly at the top spot.
