Hi friends who study fertility!
Excited to share that our team received NSF funding to create a US Human Fertility Database. We'll be generating state-specific (since 1959) & county-specific (since 1982) period & cohort fertility indicators that will be easy to access.
Imagine…You’re 29 years old in NYC, in great health, and a few weeks from celebrating your 30th birthday. Your brother just got married. You haven’t met his wife yet, but you’re looking forward to. Life is good and things are going your way.
Then you have an accident at work.
In France a woman is fined for wearing a keffiyeh, under the pretext it means she's participating to an "illegal protest" (even though she's alone in that "protest"...)
Like Iran's "morality police", but for a religion that sanctifies Israel's actions...

I am here @ the Mexican Consulate, where folks are lined up around the building to vote in Mexico’s historic presidential elections. Leading candidates are Claudia Sheinbaum from the Morena Party & Xóchitl Gálvez from the National Action Party (PAN) @LATACO
I'm excited to share a new co-authored piece! In "Resistance Archiving: Reflections on the IMM Print Detention Stories Project," Jamila Hammami and I reflect on the abolitionist potentials and dangers of sharing stories from immigration #detention across hostile landscapes.

This week people in my non academic job keep reminding me that my PhD has value.
It fills my heart that my community is proud of my and have gone out of their way to tell me so. I am so grateful! ❤️
Raise your hand if you’re a scientist that’s ever been forced to use Henrietta Lacks’ (HeLa) cells in the lab 🙋🏾♀️ I cried. I said are there ANY other cells we can use? They said NO. Not for the protocol we were using. SO MANY scientific discoveries were made using her cells.
I had the privilege of reviewing @car1ygoodman's fantastic book Dreamland for @HNet - A must-read primer on restrictionist immigration policymaking in the modern era & the anti-Black racism at its core. Get your copy @UNC_Press!

The medieval world was a much more diverse place than it is often given credit for.
Kick off Black History Month by meeting the Black knight of the round table and exploring artworks that show a diverse Middle Ages: https://t.co/rObbUbDZVP
A new @NPWF and @LatinaInstitute report first shared with me shows Latinas are the largest group of women of color most impacted by Roe's repeal with 6.7M (43% of all Latinas ages 15-49) living in 26 states that have banned or are likely to ban abortions. https://t.co/mr09hYVe84
I can’t stop thinking about these workers. And the failures at cal-osha. And how people should know that their new countertops cost young men their lives. We have to do better. https://t.co/ViSjbZdkri
