The data flood showing that an accelerating clean energy should be irresistabcle pours in. Latest number from Energy Innovation: the formula for "America getting weaker" is Project 2025
Clinging to fossil fuels alone will destroy more jobs than we have lost to the Chinese.
@Guay_JG I have never understood why hybrids got respect and range extenders did not. I'm on my fifth leased BMWI3. I use about 12 gallons of gas a year for those rare occasions when I get to a remote charging location and its not working. It's way more efficient than say, a Priuis,
@Guay_JG Yes, oil as a blessing from God gets over-hyped Should we see Maduro and Chavez as greatly more beloved than Trump. Among our Muslim brothers, God decisively favored the Shia -- Iran, Azerbaijan, even Saudi and Iraqi oil sits below Shia believers. Egypt, Pakistan unfavored.
@HeYiyong @saeverley@MBazilian@simonrlomax@ira_joseph @AllthingsLNG The IEA data shows production, not consumer impact. So US LNG is not as clean as Russian pipeline gas, in part because LNG is dirtier than pipeline gas, and partly US LNG draws heavily from the Permian, one of the dirtiest fields in the US -- so the argument is wrong,
Isn't it funny how our institutions were originally built to support massive electricity growth, which they faithfully did for decades, and it was a crisis when demand growth slowed, and it's somehow a crisis now that it's growing again...even though we have so many new options?
@David_desJ@nataliefoster David this random -- we haven't talked for a long time -- how are you? I suspect I helped pay the $150K.Glad to do so. But, My 1963 Harvard tuition was so low my civil service father didn't need or quality for aid -- loans or grants. No debt anxiety. I'd like to go back there.
@JesseJenkins Sadly analogy says more about nuclear weakness than tranatlantic plausibility. Hard not to make 3 time zone, intracontinental transmission plus advanced geothermal not wipe the economic floor. 3 zones= 8 peak hours plus 5 shoulder each side. Now Morocco to Spain? Oh yes.
As President of the 2024 G20 & COP30 in 2025, Brazil can show the world that fighting climate change, growing the economy, and spreading prosperity are all interconnected. https://t.co/UN0q57NIK6

America Needs Better Air But Businesses Don’t Want to Clean Up
Critics of new EPA regulations seem to think it's fine if Americans are breathing toxins so long as Chinese and Indians are, too.
@JesseJenkins @Guay_JG Well, it's odd, but Elon just told us that he wasted his whole life--none of the things he dreamed of in high school were needed -- not EV,s or rockets, or Solar. All it took was a carbon tax -- odd to think more highly of his legacy than he does.
@Guay_JG @cleantechsonia I'm assuming that the graph is pre-subsidy, and the US is cheaper post subsidy. If the graph is post subsidy, it appears to me to show China as slightly cheaper than US. But if subsidies not shown on graph, post subsidy US is way ahead.
@brucenilles ----small nimble, build like a tank -- with a tiny generator and a range extender so the early year shortaage of recharging didn't matter -- never turned back.
@brucenilles A BMW I3 was the first car i loved since, sixteen, I bought a used Ford Anglia. Now driving my fourth I3, thanks to California leasing law. It's become a cult car -- unimaginable for me.

@Frobozky@davidaxelrod Well, that's the thing about a conspiracy. If your purpose is illegal -- which Trump's was -- stealing an election -- otherwise legal acts which show you were doing more to advance the illegal goal are indeed damning.
@kellyBICEP 1) Ending deforestation,
2) Reducing methane released by oil and gas operations by 85% -- below .02% leaks
3) Tripling renewables
4) Ending the construction of new coal
@kellyBICEP Particularly true because every nation -- every single one -- can veto any decision. But what is important is the work that goes on outside the diplomatic gridlock. And there are four major climate moves for the 2030's that have a head of steam -- around this COP.
