@melgendreau@AlexTozzi1 Ya it's super annoying but I'm still trying to take as many steps towards a plant based diet as possible for now! Yes chickpeas are the best
I think all energy sources both renewable and non have pros and cons, best way to save the earth is for us as consumers to use energy is moderation. Hang your clothes out to dry, take a walk to the corner store instead of the car.... https://t.co/NGM5f9TuHz
@melgendreau For sure! always important to weigh out the options! I think in this case the cons are more driven by aesthetic therefore the pros outweigh
Wind energy definitely has the least amount of negative impacts, in fact I quite enjoy them visually because they represent a tangible effort for change and progression in our energy sector! #Lesson7#WindPower
@AlexTozzi1@melgendreau All meat except fish and the occasional chicken! Finding it hard to remain fully vegan since I'm allergic to soy protein and some beans :(
@AlexTozzi1 Ya exactly! I tried grasshopper soy sauce and it just looked and tasted like regular soy sauce but had tons of added protein and nutrients!
I wrote an essay last semester about the potential of using bugs as a primary protein source rather than meat. I know it sounds gross to some, but it's quite common around the world and a sustainable source!
One of the biggest excuses for not taking action against climate change is cost, yet it's been proven that the cost of adaptation to climate change consequences will be way more than the cost to begin mitigation now!!! #Lesson12#Impacts#Mitigation
Ironic how even in the minuscule amounts, while i drink water the work done on the bottle by me to drink ends up transferring into the energy i use to write my notes for this video #EnergyTransfer#Lesson2
@Deenosaurr15 exactly, more distribution of the bins, better security and more education about what to compost and how cause I feel like a lot of people are simply unsure how to do it and therefore don't bother.
@Deenosaurr15 Hopefully Montreal will now organize its compost bins and begin teaching people how to properly use their food scraps rather than throwing everything out!
Crazy and eye-opening stats about living a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. Even if you reduce your meat consumption, you are still helping!☺ #lesson12#vegetarian#benefits
@V_ANT_PHYS_273 Yes for sure! Carpool or take public transit to save gas money, use cold water to save hot water bill, turn out lights to limit energy bill!
"ALL government, private, and personal policies should take climate into consideration as it affects... pretty much everything." #Lesson12 Great way to wrap up the lesson and course. Change has to happen at all levels, no matter the size. Change can start with us! #PHYS273
@TjeansT Check out this! It's called the "Red List" and it's a list of threatened species protected by the IUCN (The International Union for Conservation of Nature). https://t.co/jttp52kJTr
Coral Reefs are at risk!! If global warming continues to rise, by 2050 only 5% of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef , the world’s largest coral reef will remain. #Lesson12#ClimateChange https://t.co/xot4HDSEQO
@clau_royea@ElliottTarek exactly, and not to mention we also have to think about the fact that maybe re-routing these ships will cause them to take longer trips and use more harmful fuel.....
Another thing that wasn't mentioned in this lecture but that is important to consider with sea based transportation is the effect on whale patterns. The noise created from ships actually interferes with their communication and leaves baby whales stranded...#Lesson10
