@DGlaucomflecken Pediatric PM&R: waiting 3-5 days for insurance approval to transfer to inpatient rehab, even if it does get approved, it’s still frustrating to keep the patient on the medical service longer than is needed.

@drpaulwinston Some programs include the intern year, others do not. So need to apply to prelim intern years at other institutions as well to make sure you have an intern year. It’s so dumb and increases costs for applicants. I had to move for intern year then residency.

@clarissakchan Every year I hear of spots that open up, someone decides to switch specialties during intern year or other reasons. Just know that all is not lost if soap doesn’t work (but hope it does for you!)

@Renatomartinjr @aocpmr @AAPhysiatry_MSC @AAPhysiatrists @RepresentRehab Good luck with soap. There are usually a few spots that open up during the year due to residents changing specialties or other unforeseen circumstances, so definitely not all is lost esp if you have an intern year

Another reason why hospitals should give residents/fellows/attendings work phones: when the call center asks you to call a hospital so you don’t block your number but it’s actually a patient so now they have your personal cell number 🤦🏻‍♀️

@StudentDrKay @AAPMR @AAPhysiatrists If your worried about getting interviews (or don’t get an interview from a specific place you wanted), AAPM&R timing could be good, if you want to say hi after interviews and express continued interest AAP might be better (after interviews but not sure if it’s before ranking)
