The challenge was to see a Kingfisher by the end of the year and I found one today, Water of https://t.co/4JhZDB7p2C challenge was to get a photo.I was so lucky that it flew back and perched on a branch where I watched it fishing. The light was poor so I’ll be back, 🤞
Surprisingly my first Red Throated Diver of the year. So pleased to see this one at Whitesands on Sunday since we didn’t see the White-rumped sandpiper or the Water Pipit. Also great weather for the first of December.
Annual trip to St Abbs to see Grey seals and their pups before Storm Bert. Left it a bit late this year but still a few young seals to see. Good to see the National Trust had fenced off all the beaches. Hopefully they survived the storm.
@Jasabrod@birdinglothian@alisonblair30 @annesinclair18 Lucky you , I couldn’t find it yesterday. I started at Bavelaw in the morning and walked round to Threipmuir .
Great morning on Lindisfarne yesterday, sitting in the’’summer’’ sun listening to Barnacle and Brent Geese and to the calls of Grey Seals. We then rushed to see the Siberian Stonechat on the other side of the island which we managed to see before rushing back for the tide.
I had almost given up looking when there was a gap in the clouds and the comet became visible. Higher in the sky than I thought it would be and also later in the sky than when you were told to look. This was about 7.45. It is there !
