Science leads. Those who deny science still are bound by its consequences. If science is “standing in the way” of something, it’s always for a good reason. Trust evidence based conclusions.
Hello to all of my followers, especially my former students and colleagues. You know I’ve always loved meteorology and so I’m leaving to go where the sky is blue. You can follow me there https://t.co/Sbz4aUoWfY. Signing off X.
@Ken785868625327@godlywomanhood God has never limited my education. I hold a Master’s Degree in Geology. My husband is an ordained minister and our daughter is pursuing her doctorate. Tomorrow we are preparing & serving meals to the homeless in an urban center near our mission. What have you done for his needy?
@jcniyomugabo What I had to in order to keep the poor girl safe. Nothing ever came of it. Nun never reported me and he was afraid of his parents learning what he had done. Plus I was dating an all-county heavyweight wrestler…
@jcniyomugabo Then I told him if he touched her again, I would cut them off and wear them as earrings. The nun came over and yelled at me and said she was going to report me. I said go ahead and I’ll report to the girl’s dad exactly what I saw him do. Told my mom that night and she said to do
@educator4ever36 No, having taught administration/BOE/town council members’ children (most were great, but enough were problematic) I know I want the security to stand my ground and not give into pressure. And not just about grades - letters of recommendation demands, honor society membership…
@ZBauermaster Openness to a variety of perspectives. Don’t just seek the opinions of the favored few. Many of us have different concerns that are subject or class specific. Holding a pep rally the last week of April might be great for the baseball team, but it’s also the week before AP tests.
@JamesAFurey I was the department “fixer” for a number of years since I was certified in multiple sciences. I changed preps 11 times in 16 years. You bet I worked every single day. I even worked Christmas one year just so I could present quality lessons.
@JamesAFurey Actual conversation with a 9th grade student:
Student: My parents want to know why I have zero for the graphing assignment.
Me: Did you turn it in?
Student: No.
Me: …
Student: So why is it a zero?
Me: Do you plan on doing it?
Student: No. Will you grade it anyway?
@OuizerTeacher Once, as a first year teacher in a district, I was observed first period on Jan 2. It was my chemistry lab period and I was written up for not performing a physical lab. Instead I had introduced the new unit and had students practice balancing equations.
@txsalth2o Check with your school before giving cash. Many districts outright forbid monetary gifts to teachers - mine did. It was seen as a bribe and could get a teacher in big trouble!
