Somalia’s answer to violence was never “more armed citizens.” Clan militias, warlords, and al-Shabaab didn’t disappear because civilians were disarmed. The same pattern shows up here: the places with the strictest gun bans still produce the highest homicide rates, because the people committing the shootings don’t apply for permits.

The Second Amendment isn’t a crime-prevention program. It’s a limit on government. Criminals ignore bans. Law-abiding people are the ones left without a practical means of defense. If the proposal is “ban guns so crime stops,” the data from both Mogadishu and Chicago already answered that.
