@Kish_P14 He is a Gaelic Football player in Ireland for his county in Galway. He would be known as Fitzy by them, especially considering there is also 2 other Seán’s in the team, so he is just used to going by Fitzy.
@Donnachive@SmallerFishGAA Kerry and Donegal played 3 weeks in a row up to the quarter final last year and Galway the year before so it didn’t do any of them teams any harm as they got to the final.
@WestKerrylad Kerry got the best possible draw tbh and got the team everyone else wanted to get. Meath vs Derry and Monaghan vs Roscommon definitely the two most interesting games of the round tbh
@Jimmy_McD@lanakillops@Galway_GAA Yeah he was man marker a Leitrim forward a few weeks ago, now he looks like he could be doing a man marking job on a Liverpool bird. Ah fair play to him does seem like a decent guy and doesn’t seem full of himself tbh.
@CathalOR1987 But it’s not gonna go back to a knockout format. Teams train all year and just having one game in championship isn’t gonna cut it right. Sure Clare in the hurling in 2024 lost 2 games and still won the All Ireland, don’t think any team has 2 games in football and won AI yet.
@CathalOR1987 Sure Monaghan, Cavan, Meath and Derry all have lost 2 games as well. So why just single out Dublin at least with Dublin and Monaghan they have won 2 games. But no one really wants it to go back to straight knock out and provincials are a separate competition now tbh.
@cooney_ian 1 thing that strange is why wasn’t the draw made Sunday night on the Sunday game instead of waiting until Tuesday morning on Morning Ireland. Makes no sense to me.
@Owene2220@DubsGAAFans GAA definitely isn’t dying off. Some really good games this weekend just because Dublin fans have lost interest doesn’t mean other counties have
@CathalOR1987 Ah I think you are probably in the minority in terms of your opinion. I think it might not be perfect or the perfect format just yet but a lot better than the last few years formats.
@getoffthehill I actually thought Dublin played quite well today up front and their forwards played well. But they definitely having goal keeping and defensive issues, but a lot of new players in defence in fairness. Dublin and Kerry would happen to be an interesting draw if they were to meet.
@ballsdotie From that picture it actually looks wide, but I thought it looked over on first viewing during the game tbh. But Monaghan had plenty chances to win it outside of that tbf.
@getoffthehill Yeah sure do what the Cork footballers have done a play some of their games in Páirc Ui Rinn instead of Páirc Ui Chaoimh, Dublin could do something similar. Imagine the atmosphere if that game was on in Parnell Park today.
@KeithCahill@getoffthehill I think it’s more to do with a full smaller stadium than a half empty stadium. This Dublin team seem to need a bit of atmosphere to play well. Sure most pitches are the small length it’s a myth of how big Croke Park is there are a lot of other pitches bigger than Croke Park.
@alankearneykpm@KehoeYah@jonnypmayo Ah yeah like between 2015 and 2018, Philly was definitely in the top 5 defenders in the country and was very consistent. Sure in 2015 he scored 1-02 in an All Ireland Semi Final and also held Gooch scoreless in the final that year and scored a point himself.
