Wish Kevin Keegan well. One of the best players in the world.
For all that “I’d love it” stuff, he was quality with MUFC fans at Porto airport in ‘97.
I’d also interviewed him in Newcastle when he said: “Newcastle United is a football club. Manchester United is an institution”
Here's my take: "Look, it's hugely disappointing. But look, we'll take on the board the learnings from this and, in time, a day like today will be one that we'll use to strengthen the group and weave into our process before the next training camp in Portugal."
@JP_McG Lothar Matthaüs did something similar with Chris Waddle after the 1990 World Cup semi-final. To retain such composure when your instincts must be directing you to run off and celebrate with your team mates is quite the thing.
@rfwalsh86 I'm no fan of their style but Arsenal snuffed out PSG's attack brilliantly. Going toe-to-toe with PSG in an attacking sense was never on the cards (like the Bayern semi-final first leg). Arsenal played to their tactical strengths - and came within a whisker.
That's five successive European Final (95, 00, 06, 19, 26) defeats for Arsenal but none will hurt harder than today's #ChampionsLeague decider. They dealt comfortably with
most of what PSG threw at them and worked their socks off...
Luis Enrique's third Champions League as a coach. Now part of an illustrious list of back-to-back victors. Who knows where his future lies? But he is already in the halcyon.
41 points from the past 19 #PremierLeague matches and just two defeats in that sequence. Credit to Michael Carrick for salvaging something from a season that looked destined for further calamity. Go back to the disaster at Grimsby. Third in the league felt impossible then. #MUFC
@KilkennyCLG out of the Senior Hurling Championship. Crikey. Given the recent form, it probably isn't a surprise but it is still a significant moment in the modern history of the game. Credit to @DubGAAOfficial for not allowing last year's All-Ireland semi-final to fester. #GAA
Donegal dishing out a huge defeat to Kerry in Killarney. Their score from play rate has been exceptional. Will be interesting to see what may arise from the scenes at the half-time hooter. #GAA
