Sat frustrated in PD today: Science of Hope. All about kids not feeling they belong or have purpose. No real solutions presented. No acknowledgement of need for spiritual life or community. Not even as an outlier idea. Just acceptance of student hopelessness. I don’t get it.

@ShopgirI_ @gotrice2024 I grow my own. When I make powder, I do leave the peels on. It’s ridiculously time consuming to peel them all, and after 5 years, I found it makes no difference.

@financedystop Yeah. The helicopter ride to brain surgeons following my son’s car accident alone was 25k. My chemo was 13k per bagx6 x 9 treatments. We weren’t sickly types, either.

@kareem_carr Absolutely ridiculous take. Being a kind person concerned for your students has nothing in common with wokeness. My experience in grad school with woke professors showed me that to be woke means to be hateful and self-centered.

@HazelAppleyard Honestly I am a better mother with the one I had at 40 than the ones I had in my 20s. Priorities change. It’s more fun, too. And built-in babysitters. 😉
