This was the first Death Battle to actually get me to care about the analysis and the writing on Death Battle. Goku vs Saitama has better action and animation, but I’ll always prefer Saitama vs Popeye.

I enjoyed it because I like the characters and they were portrayed really well, but I could tell by how low quality and slow the animation was that nobody on the team wanted to make this. Gru’s model looks like it’s from a FuturisticHub video. 6.5/10, at least it isn’t more anime

Despite a few issues like how the conclusion tries making the outcome seem way closer than it actually is, this is my second favorite Dragon Ball Death Battle of all time and it has one of the absolute coolest fight animations ever. The Death Battle community did DA dirty.

@Edurdong @badass_imp Season 7 was infamous when it aired in 2020 for half the lineup being Marvel and DC. They’ve also overused Shonen a lot over the years, but it’s never been even close to this severe until 2026.

If Death Battle doesn't give a fuck about anyone's matchups and they only wanna do what they vaguely think is popular, then maybe they shouldn't sell $500 pitches on their website! Death Battle has to address and fix the Shonen spam or else they've lost all integrity as a show.

I'm sick of the toxic positivity mindset that "it's their show" and "we should be grateful for anything." We've literally given them thousands of dollars, we deserve to be heard! If they don't listen to the backlash at all, then they're basically scamming their audience.

@phdrob_ I think my issue with the climax against Saitama is that Goku getting serious didn’t feel super earned. They should’ve had Goku nearly get spaghettified by the black hole to create more of a sense of danger rather than him just immediately getting up and deciding to get stern.
