@thesimonetti Good read! A great follow-up article would be about navigators (I'm a MNSure navigator!): https://t.co/DToyykxnML. So many don't know about us, but it's such a rewarding job; our services are free and we help ppl through the confusing maze of finding & keeping health insurance.
@FCC I.e., I am on @CenturyLinkHelp's supposed "Price for Life" plan of $45/mo for 7 Mbps. I was told I would need to "upgrade" to their new Price for Life plan of $49/mo for 6 Mbps in order to get my EBB, which I was already approved for on the govt's site.
Fuzzy about "editorial discretion"? Andy Hollandbeck (@4ndyman) nails it. If you're new to editing (as writer or editor), pin this to your corkboard: https://t.co/yo39oVnJt2
The key to success is not just persistence but ENLIGHTENED persistence.
If you can see where you are on your writing journey, and you know what you need to do to get yourself to the next level, eventually you'll get where you want to go.

"How to Write a Paper For This Class," by Jill Lepore (who teaches at #Harvard) and, of course, writes for @newyorker. Read every word. Best conference handout ever. #narrativeBU
I hate grammar as much as the next person, but sooner or later you’re going to have to learn how “lie” and “lay” work, so you might as well get it over with now. —@BCDreyer

@GrammarGirl Which also offshoots into the "dinner vs. supper" argument—it's all about the time of day, they say, and some people feel very strongly about it 😃
Looking forward to this one! EVERYBODY, EVERY BODY, a book abt the physical reality of life in a female body & how that reality impacts every experience we have...@agarbes' follow-up to her book LIKE A MOTHER https://t.co/tjRwxXq7rw 📚 @booksijustread#InternationalWomensDay2019
@keiraheckwrites @fem_editor Have you ever watched the trailer for the movie WALK OF SHAME? You'll die laughing—I don't think she walks once, and it's all in high heels. https://t.co/MiEHkdTXs5
@agirlandaboy@copyeditors @EFAFreelancers But if she does have previous work experience as an editor, then it just depends on how much work she thinks she's going to get from those connections—having an honest conversation w/ them about going freelance would probably be the most helpful thing.
@agirlandaboy@copyeditors @EFAFreelancers Ditto, @agirlandaboy. I think it completely depends on the platform she has. If she's starting completely from scratch...well, to be honest, I'm not really sure how that works since being an editor requires hands-on learning—it's still very much an apprentice/mentor type of work.
