#NLDigIntern Re: Hadro, an interesting perspective that access for access sake is not the end goal. Rather, the goal of digital collections is to promote meaningful connections and for viewers to use the resources to enrich their lives. PS: I love the road trip project, so cool!
#NLDigIntern I'm currently re-reading all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books (just started Little Town on the Prairie), so I may be biased in choosing the @NewberryLibrary's Transcribing Modern Manuscripts as my favorite project - Western Expansion Letters & Diaries all the way!
#NLDigIntern Van Hyning article: interesting that some projects require multiple contributions from different users and then aggregate the collective data to form more concise and complete snapshots of the image. Do AIM or PPA employ this tactic?
@annee4455 It helps when the project is fun and educational, too! I keep accidentally going over my 150 postcard quota because I get sucked in. I also have multiple browser tabs open to research all the castles and country homes.
#NLDigIntern While reading Holley, I was reminded of a discussion in my Digital Metadata class about allowing experts in the field to assist in providing metadata for collections in which the cataloger is unfamiliar with the subject.
#NLDigIntern Hi all! I'm a library student in Chicago, and I'm finishing up the last semester of my Archives & Cultural Heritage certificate. Currently a cataloging intern at Pritzker Military Museum & Library and an archives intern at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
