Sometimes I forget that I have an "audio-bio" where you can learn about me and my work in under 8 minutes.
7 months in, it still stands the test of time.

🚨 I am recruiting for 2 new PhD students and 1 postdoctoral researcher to join my lab at UC Berkeley for summer 2025 start dates!
If you have a background in mechanical engineering, hci, and/or cognitive science + an interest in changing the future of design, please apply!
meet me on substack ... let's talk philosophical theory from Foucault, Bachelard, and Lefvbre, to architectural theory from Alexander, Silverstein, and Ishikawa <3 https://t.co/sGGNzeF360
We’re finally here !

#IDETC-CIE marks exactly one year since I joined @UCBerkeley's Co-Design Lab @BiDLab. Through the major and minor (cc: my talk at the conference), it's been a delight being a part of this wonderful group!

My @FTI colleague @MelanieSubin and I are always talking about the futures of #education - it's an area we're both passionate about. (Want better futures? Invest in kids, teens and young adults.)
backstory: Wikipedian Giraffedata has removed "comprised of" as many as ~90k times AND wrote a thoroughly-researched 4300 word essay about why the phrase is bad https://t.co/aj1Va45TAA
Why are semantics so hard (cc: @vkhosla current concern for English majors)? ‘Spatial computing’ and ‘augmented reality’ are not synonymous. Attaching slides from when I was @tudelft to clarify. (Might also ask myself, ‘why is this the hill I want to die on?’)
Apple’s message is clear: after desktop and mobile computing, the next big tech era will be spatial computing—also known as augmented reality https://t.co/964cSZbIQD
I’ll never forget the first time I had to “get on top of my emails.” I was 24, took a week to do it, spent a whole therapy session talking about how good it felt. The worst part, I didn’t yet know, like laundry, email management would be a constant part of my life. 🫠
It only took me 2 days but I can now say that I have crossed out this 1 item on my TODO list:
⁃Catch up on email
Does it include doing all the TODOs that the emails have generated?
No.
I am aware that the world is burning & that no one cares about me being on top of email.
@thecatfangs told me once upon a time, NASA was trying to use electrostatic charges to inflate a morphing structure. Then she and @jianzheGu charged a rose. Attend her #CHI2022 talk this afternoon!

@mykola Going to “grief groups” where others shared stories of loss was by far most important in grieving loss of my mother + my best friend (in a year). Structured like AA, no questions/back talk were allowed, all shared information was privileged, etc. 1/
