People are praising dbs beerus and now ditching old dbs out the window because they've finally realized how low of a standard it was in terms of animation, I feel vindicated after all those years
When I heard that Bulma MIGHT be immortal the first thing I thought of was the character she was based on the “Longevity Monk” (in reference to eternal youth) Tripitaka the Protagonist from Journey to the West who attains Buddha-hood at the end of the Novel. Toriyama confirmed the inspiration a long time ago and likely continued to take inspiration.
This. This was my problem right here. And 45 and 49 being anime original. FOH.
Also the poor implementation of the story expansions.(ie the ywach and Ichibe flashback in cour 3 vs the entirety of episode 47)
cour 4 upto ep 45 feels like a different season compard to the next 3 episodes, probably the best overall run in tybw
but the way it crashed with each episode being worse than the previous for eps 46, 47 and 48, it really is tragic
they should have taken more time, if needed to
@BeerStix Yeah, story content its all fine. But storyboard and animation wise? It feels like a milder version of what happened to DBsuper post episode 3 when the preproduction ran out.
Thoughts- oof. As an episode on its own? It was fine. 7-8/10 or whatever. In context for what it means? For what it represents? For what it was supposed to be? Not good enough. They’ll get pestered for this and the staff shouldn’t even be blamed. This is way above their heads. It’s not an animator issue, it’s not a director issue- no this is above them. If it can happen to Naruto, if it can happen to Black Clover’s movie, it can happen to BLEACH and it did. The “problem” is much HIGHER than “the staff” so direct your ire where it should be. Leave the staff alone. This isn’t their fault.
@Almighty_Yhwach I don’t understand how they could treat probably the most hype moment in the manga this way. They gave their fanfiction nonsense movie level production and told the rest to fuck off
