A working defibrillator shouldn’t be a struggle to find when a patient’s life is on the line. Healthcare workers shouldn’t have to fight for the basic tools they need to provide care. Clinic resources should go where they matter most: patients, staffing, and lifesaving care. #HoldClinicsAccountable @CPCA
🚨EXCLUSIVE: @LeverNews interview with Dave Regan - the union leader spearheading the billionaire tax @GavinNewsom & his billionaire pals are trying to block.
Regan says liberal groups' leaders caving to Newsom's bullying are selling out their members.
Did you know the clinic @halocares_org in Sacramento spent less than 50% of its funding on patient care while its CEO was paid over $400,000 in 2023? 👀
That’s one example of why healthcare workers in Sacramento turned in signatures today to put the Clinic Accountability and Transparency Act on the ballot — an initiative to make sure clinic funding goes to patients first, not excessive CEO pay and non-essentials.
Alejandra Ambriz who worked at Omni Family Health for two years shares a shocking story: Her clinic once ran out of protective glasses for dental patients — which staff eventually had to purchase themselves to keep patients safe. Healthcare workers should NOT have to buy basic supplies for patients. Today, clinic workers turned in signatures for the Clinic Accountability and Transparency Act in Sacramento, putting us one step closer to making sure clinic dollars go where they belong: patient care. #HoldClinicsAccountable
Dialysis provider Fresenius paid its CEO $4.8 million in 2024—then fired nurse Alan Faustino for speaking out about working conditions.
@Fresenius, @DaVita, @USRenalCare, @SatelliteHealth: Union-busting has no place in health care. Bargain in good faith. Reinstate him.
1,500+ workers at Rady Children’s Hospital just voted YES to unite in SEIU-UHW for better jobs & patient care. We’re now 8,500 strong across San Diego & ready to organize many more! Do YOU know caregivers who need union power? Message us so we can connect with them!
Dialysis caregivers who served in the military and provide dialysis care to patients including other veterans have been organizing with SEIU-UHW to address concerns about short staffing, low pay, and their impact on patient care. @SenBlumenthal's legislation is a critical step toward ensuring worker input and that the private dialysis companies entrusted with veterans’ care are held accountable for meeting minimum standards. We applaud Senator Blumenthal for championing this effort, and we stand ready to work with Senator Blumenthal to make sure dialysis caregivers have the working conditions they need to provide every veteran with the best quality care possible. Dialysis companies that contract with the VA must provide safe working conditions for dialysis caregivers and the best quality care for our nation's veterans.
Veterans who provide dialysis care to veterans at @Fresnius , @DaVita , @USRenalCare and @SatelliteHealth came to Washington DC last month to tell their stories to members of Congress – and we made our voices heard!
Companies who contract with the VA must provide a safe environment for workers and the best quality care for America’s veterans.
Dialysis workers & patients took our fight to D.C.
We told 50+ members of Congress the truth about the dialysis industry: short staffing, low wages & unfair labor practices are hurting both workers and the patients we care for, including veterans.
They heard us loud and clear.
Thank you @BernieSanders for standing with @DaVita dialysis workers who are rising up and going union to protect their patients and raise their standard of living. #FixDialysis#UnitedForAll
Dialysis workers at DaVita Vineyard are voting on whether to become the first union dialysis clinic in California’s Central Valley.
I stand in solidarity with these workers in their fight to unionize with SEIU-UHW and call on DaVita to put an end to its illegal union busting.
Hard-working dialysis caregivers at @DaVita , @USRenalCare , @SatelliteHealth , and @Fresenius are fighting for the best quality care for their patients, including those who receive services through the VA’s National Dialysis Services Contract.
The workers are using ADO forms to document how short staffing and increased workloads are impacting their ability to provide quality patient care.
The @deptvetaffairs needs to make sure companies receiving lucrative contracts provide a safe environment for workers and the best quality care for America’s veterans.
We stand with healthcare workers at Rady Children’s Hospital who are fighting to form their union with @seiu_uhw
Management must respect their workers’ choice to unionize, and allow a free and fair election.

Patrick McGarrity, Chief of Staff for Sup. Sylvia Arenas is taking a strong stand for California dialysis workers in our fight for improved working conditions so that we can focus on patient care.
It’s time for Satellite Healthcare and Fresenius Medical Care to stop bargaining in bad faith and listen to caregivers: increase staffing, improve patient and worker safety, and invest in the workers who take care of patients every day. #United4All#FixDialysis
Healthcare CEOs — even at community clinics — are being paid millions. That means less money for where it’s really needed.
Today we filed two ballot initiatives to limit excessive executive pay and ensure healthcare funding goes where it belongs.
