@EmileeNealy I have never thought about this before. I believe it is highly unethical for prisons to use this as a mean of getting around the responsibility of taking care of their elderly inmates. I’m in full support of compassionate release, but not as a mean of ageism. #WKUSocialWorkPolicy

@ElanaJo62267822 I believe this is something that could benefit a lot of individuals, as well as their families. The dying process is often very long, emotional, & tiresome for all those involved. This can decrease a lot of suffering, as well as giving individuals their freedom to choose.

Older Americans Act (OAA) provides services to our most vulnerable elders 60 & older. OAA is needed for seniors to stay in their homes (85% were able to w/this assistance), while also saving taxpayers $. Social workers advocate for the vulnerable. @ErinWarfel #WKUSocialWorkPolicy

For the 2nd year in a row, the state of KY had the highest child abuse rate in the entire country. 23/1,000 children suffered some type of abuse. Social workers’ primary responsibility is to promote the well-being of clients. #NASW #WKUSocialWorkPolicy @ErinWarfel

@Britt_Spencerrr COVID-19 has impacted millions of individuals, leaving them depressed & anxious. I can see why suicide was ranked #10. The need for mental health services continually grows & new policies need to be implemented in order to make a change. #WKUSocialWorkPolicy

@CaterCamryn1 Especially due to COVID-19, there has been a major increase in the need of mental health services. Depression & anxiety have also been shown to majorly increase in teens due to stress, lack of interaction, etc. Policies definitely need to be implemented. #WKUSocialWorkPolicy
