Getting inexplicably excited out of nowhere thinking about getting home and playing Metal Slug X for the 7th time this year. For some reason I found a lot of comfort in knowing my favourite games were developed when genAI wasn't a thing.

And now it's confirmed. Physical games acted as an anchor point for game prices, because you could always rent, trade or buy used games. Here in the UK, physical games are often cheaper than their digital counterparts because retailers will compete on price. For example, Wolverine is £69.99 on the PlayStation Store, but £62.99 from Currys. Same exact game, but the physical is £7 cheaper, and I can trade it or sell it.

This is defacto confirmation that the PS6 will be a digital-only console, and Xbox already gave up on physical media years ago. You can prepare for much higher game prices going forward.

@LatinaMerchant1 FGC is barely scraping by so people have to accept the money. They'll be good because of this for a while and a centralized dependency on Evo might be formed.

Ripping it away at that point could hard end some locals in the same way VC esports money ended some NA regionals.
