The trouble is, if like me you voted Reform, you may have inadvertently gifted Labour the win. Thankfully, where I live the only alternative was Reform and the ultimate winner was Liberal, which in its own way also gifted Labour the win. Churchill, a man I do not like, suggested democracy was the best worst option, but it’s not, clearly so!
@Mofoman360 No, while I think Starmer and every PM since 1941 has done enormous harm to our country none have done anything illegal. It’s not helpful this sort of thing because it does not move the problem forward.
I’d vote for a cup of cold sick if I thought it could shake the two main parties into common sense. Reform is the alternative given the numbers. Is it racist? No, but could they make a real difference themselves? Unlikely. The Marxist left is well embedded in the civil service and legal structures. I don’t see a new party able to decimate decades of damage, but I can see them shocking the main parties into change. To be fair, for 80 years, ever since Churchill signed the Atlantic Charter, we’ve been in political, economic, technological, educational, and social decline.
@SkyNews@TomTugendhat@LeahBoleto A former minister, telling the truth! That must be a lie.
He is right though in that we are under direct threat. I sense this every time I walk my small town, the danger is real. Oh, he means Putin! Nah! The real threat is here and it’s become very dangerous indeed.
I can tell you what it means. It means Starmer has to employ another minister or two, Healey gets his lovely big pension, and for us it means welfare payments to third world killers and rapists are more important than our security. Though to be fair a warship is not required right now, battle-hardened troops on the streets would make me feel safer. I would prefer a soldier armed to the teeth with SA80s on my streets because that is where the threat is right now. If only we had a true Cromwell in the army to take this shit-show over.
This is why soccer/futbol is the toughest sport in the entire world. This player took a BRUTAL cheap shot to the back from a ball kicked well over 100 mph. Not only was this warrior able to quickly and miraculously recover but he even managed to somehow FINISH THE GAME! ⚽️🔥
I said no, not because I’m against the death penalty, because I’m not.
I don’t trust the legal system and I don’t trust my peers to objectively get jury duty right.
If anyone can look at British justice today and say it’s fair, I’d say you are either lying or deluded.
You can break a police officer’s nose and get away with it, yet writing a few words can get you years. So while I think murderers and child rapists should face the rope, I do not trust the system to get it right.
Excellent! Something I once owned was sold because it was shit and needed investment. Ever since it was sold the taxpayer has poured billions more in to the services to keep them going and now we own it again. Then we wonder why we can’t afford a military.
We’re creating Great British Railways to deliver train services you can rely on and be proud of.
It’s a new publicly owned railway that will put passengers before profits.
@AndrewHWestern Andrew, politicians going back to 1941 own this, you own this, Robinson only exists because of your inability to deal with reality. Stop lashing out. Sit down, think, understand the truth and deal with it, because trust me, time is running out.
What? The man who signed the Atlantic Charter that triggered Britain's decline? No. I’m sure he didn’t realise the damage he started, but I’m convinced he understood by the time he died. Churchill understood he had zero power. He signed off on giving Poland to the USSR, the country we went to war over. Again, not sure he could’ve changed it, but his voice against it would’ve been important, but of course he was half Yank!
The funding of Britain's military is a longstanding problem. Yes, Labour is not helping, but we are in a country where we can’t generate the required tax take to support the military and the huge welfare burden, and both problems go back many years. It’s time to be realistic about where we are and build forward from that.
Starmer has made a conscious decision to underfund our military, leaving us defenceless, whilst spending billions of pounds on importing third world fighting age men.
At what point does this level of treachery become treason?
Sadly, I feel the damage Thatcher did far outweighs what Starmer has done thus far, and the damage he’s doing is immeasurably different and built upon the work Blair did. Tragically, the foundation he started from was not good: Thatcher, Blair, Brown, and God knows how many other muppets from across the political spectrum. I’m not excusing Starmer—I utterly hate him—but I’ll never excuse any of those who went before him, and you’ll see from my timeline that goes all the way back to 1941.
Now this makes sense. They’ve made fuel so expensive that they recognise the common people need to get around on foot and pushbike. Yes, the plan is working.
There’s a lot going on in politics right now, but I’m getting on with the job. For too long, cycling & walking hasn't been an easy choice. That's why we’re setting national targets with a proper plan, to enable more people to walk, cycle & wheel more often.https://t.co/otD59harhi
