I will post on this every day until someone pays attention.
81 days.
That's how long it's been since Gary "Bubba" Blair died from "profound dehydration" in a feces-covered jail cell.
A mentally ill man died of thirst in a South Carolina jail cell. In 2026.
Let that sink in.
No one has been charged.
Gary "Bubba" Blair, 43, was loved by his family. Here's what's been reported:
🔹 Feb. 22: Bubba is booked into the Chesterfield County Detention Center on a nonviolent charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer.
🔹 His family says he weighed nearly 300 lbs going in and had struggled with serious mental illness since age 18.
🔹 April 22: He writes to his father, "I've lost about 90 pounds so far. I'm starving to death in here."
He says he's drinking from his toilet and has no mattress, and closes with "No help for a white man."
🔹 May: He writes to a circuit judge, "I weighed 292. 9 days later I weighed 270."
🔹 A judge finds him incompetent to stand trial but restorable with treatment.
🔹 June 3: He's ordered into the care of the SC Office of Mental Health for treatment.
🔹 He never gets there. Officials reportedly cite a backlog of about 9 months.
🔹 July 24: He's found dead on the floor of his feces-covered cell, 51 days after that order.
🔹 The autopsy rules it a homicide from "profound dehydration" due to "deprivation of water," according to the family's attorney.
🔹 6 black jail staff are fired, including the detention director.
🔹 SLED is still investigating.
🔹 Charges: none
Bubba would have been begging for food, for water, for help.
He said he wasn't allowed to shower for 28 days.
He said he was beaten.
81 days, and barely a peep from national media.
Bubba deserved help.
He deserved water.
He deserved food.
He deserved better.
And no one gives a damn.
What do you think would be happening if a black man died in the same circumstances, and with a white jailer crew watching?
Share this so he isn't forgotten.
I can't get over this.
A hospital worker sexually assaulted a woman having a seizure on an MRI table and only got 30 days.
30 days.
In response to this story, soft-on-crime DA Laura Conover's Office issued a statement:
"The Pima County Attorney's Office is committed to restorative justice... and strives to be inclusive and equitable to all segments of the communities we serve..."
What's "restorative" about letting sexual predators loose on the streets? What "communities" do you serve, Laura? Just the prison community?
It sure doesn't seem like you serve the victims, or their families. Just the convicts.
Those who obey the law, like Snuggles' family, the dog locked up by the City of Tucson for over a year now, don't seem to see any of this equity, inclusivity, or "restorative" justice you speak of.
In fact, all @JenniferEvn22 and her family have received, other than having their dog kidnapped by the local government, is a smear campaign in the lackey Tucson media.
Restorative justice for convicts. Smear campaigns for veterans, their pups, and their families.
Laura Conover, there is a reason they call you "ConLover."

Major hasn't felt a human hand in over 545 days.
He's a service dog in Austin. A car hit him on a walk last year, and hurt and scared, he bit a woman who tried to pick him up. It was a bad bite. Nobody's denying that.
Since then he's been alone in an isolation kennel at the city shelter. Austin wants him put down. His owner says Major helps him with a brain injury and seizures, and a federal court has it on hold while it decides if an outside expert can evaluate him.
A hurt dog that bit once deserves a real evaluation before anybody kills him.
Should Major get that chance?
SAVE A LIFE. Our Lowcountry animal shelters need your help.
Dorchester Paws is in a flood zone and urgently needs emergency fosters before the heavy rain arrives. They're open until 4 PM today.
Charleston Animal Society took in 100 dogs last week. More are arriving every day. They are FULL. Foster at the Berkeley Campus in Moncks Corner from 10 AM–3 PM Friday or 10 AM–4 PM Saturday. You can also adopt at either campus.
A spare room or a spot on the couch can save a life.
Snuggles has been locked away for a year. Not because he is beyond saving. Because the system that took him has not brought him home.
He is an Anatolian Shepherd. A guardian dog. Built to live beside his people, to watch a yard, to sleep where he can hear the family. Instead he has spent twelve months in solitary, day after day, with a boarding bill that has climbed past $20,000. A year is longer than most felony sentences. No dog should pay a heavier price than that for a chance to go home alive and healthy.
The people who love him have not given up. They have asked for him back. They have worked to make the home safer. They have paid, waited, pleaded, and kept his name in the light when it would have been easier to go quiet. Snuggles is still there. Still himself. Still waiting for the door to open.
Bring him home now. End the hold. Stop the clock on a bill no family should have to carry for the crime of refusing to abandon their dog. One more month is not a solution. One more review is not mercy. He has already given a year.

Ginny needs ALL the shares she can get 🙏🏻
Rescue life is overwhelming for Ginny. She desperately needs a quiet home (without visitors initially) giving her the time and space she needs to decompress and take things at her own pace. Then you will see the sweetest girl.
She has lived most of her life in a home, so being part of a family is what feels natural to her. She desperately wants that feeling of belonging again and a quiet place where she can relax and feel safe.
Ginny needs somebody experienced with fear based reactivity who can help her with patience and a predictable routine.

Immigrants arriving at Ellis Island in 1903 had to pass a doctor’s exam that checked for diseases like tuberculosis and trachoma. In 1906, 12,432 people were turned away at the door. The ones who got in brought $25 MILLION in cash with them, because they knew nobody was going to hand them anything.
There was no welfare, no food stamps, and no Medicaid. They had to actually work, or they were sent back.
Also, Back in 1903 assimilation was the goal. Congress passed a law in 1906 requiring anyone who wanted citizenship to speak English, and companies like Ford ran their own schools to teach English, safety, and American history. A Ford English School diploma even counted toward a person’s citizenship application.
Back when we were a proper country.. 💔💔
Hey @NathanHochmanDA, I hate to break up your tanning schedule but this dying angel was found dumped near MacArthur Park last night. This is a video of her going into a vet where she most likely will never see outside again. Just wondering if next time you have a picnic and an “impromptu” musical guest, can I bring her ashes if she dies? Or still want to ignore the problem?

URGENT IN LANCASTER SLAUGHTERHOUSE SHELTER‼️
Harvey came in bleeding from his face, with swelling around his nose and mouth. But despite what he might have been through, he was sweet and friendly💔
He connected with a volunteer and immediately started singing his song from his kennel. Then once they got him out in the yard, there was even more Harvey to like.🙏
His intake handling notes describe him as sweet, wiggly, relaxed, flexible and quick to approach, with soft eyes and neutral ears. He received a great handling score and was easy with staff.
His latest medical notes are hopeful — the swelling around his nose has gone down, no further bleeding noted and he’s eating well.👍
Harvey has not been to playgroup yet, so we don’t have dog-to-dog notes for him. But we know this 75-pound Husky has already already shown us his sweet side with people💔And apparently vocals are included. 🎵 if you are looking for a professional shower singer, look no further! Harvey is ready to be your duet partner for life😍😍😍😍😍
