@ThePoniExpress@937theFan If Pickett was a college QB again and he displayed the same resume beginning his 3rd year he’d already have been replaced. The Steelers are just trying to bleed that rookie deal. Everyone knows he’s not the guy. If old man Rooney believes he is, someone needs to take his keys
@kbowlsby She’s a great scorer and a great individual player but unless she can win chip , it’s a secondary accomplishment when the 🐐 conversion comes up
@Steelersdepot Fields is the best plan despite the cost. The key defensive players are soon aging out. Sticking with Pickett assures the Steelers have the 4th best QB in the AFCN. The window is wide now! Fields adds a new dimension. Pull the trigger. Waiting on Pickett is wishful thinking
@DavidMTodd Fields is capable of playing the position the way the the position is trending forward . Instead of Kenny checking down and throwing short of the sticks , Fields makes a play with his legs. As for Cousins, if they are adamant about developing Pickett, learning from Kirk is useful
@jwit45@Blitz_Burgh Canada was not that bad. The offense was similar to SF’s. The issue was Ben wouldn’t run it and Pickett couldn’t run it. Canada may have called bad plays at times but Pickett still looked incapable of accurate throws or decision making. Big Ben just ran his own offense.
@Steelersdepot It’s hilarious to me that Clark says the organization was “set back”. Last time I checked the Steelers win at least a minimum of 8 games per year. The Patriots were “set back” after Brady. The Steelers are fine despite some misses on draft day.
@ThePoniExpress He was in the 49ers-like offense. He could not operate it. Have you seen how many times SF runs jet sweeps ? Canada tried the same. Why did the offense take off when Rudolph started? Because Rudolph was a deep ball threat and defenses had to play honest. Najee/Warren also thrived.
@MarkMaddenX Nobody knew KP would be this awful. KP got Canada fired and Tomlin was on potentially the block. I wonder who should be blamed for the Pickett debacle. At the very least they need to admit KP was never ready to be a starter even if he gets better in the future.
@MikeAlberti7@bepryor Tomlin is not a college coach. This is professional level football. He is not responsible for making boys into men. The Steelers need to cut bait and move on from Pickens, Johnson and Harris. There are plenty of capable replacements as either free agents or college draftees
@colin_dunlap This is not Madden football. The NFL is specifically designed for parity. The Steelers have been good for 50 years. You want to be like Buffalo or the Rams and have a 4 year arc and start over again every 4 years ?
@Blitz_Burgh It’s easy for underachieving players to complain. I’ll listen to Najee when he plays like a first round running back and Dionte when he plays like a #1 WR. They should both thank Tomlin for getting them the salaries they have in which they don’t perform to the level of payment.
