@AvaSantina@ahmedIfc I don’t think LWN are holding a fundraiser on Wednesday (or if we are I’ve definitely dropped a ball somewhere!) so this might not be quite right.
Whatever your politics, there remains a universal truth to local elections. There are two types of councillors, those who think getting elected was the finishing line, and those who think it’s the starting line. A lot of people are in for a surprise when they open their inboxes.
No matter how you vote in the #LocalElections, Labour will hold power nationally for 3 years with a big majority, that won’t change
What WILL change is your local council’s Competence, Accountability & the Quality of Your Public Services
That choice is yours
Your vote matters
As former Chief Prosecutor, mothers would remind me that Mother's Day is the day with the lowest crime in the whole year
One explanation is that many mums commit crimes throughout the year, but can't that day because they're too busy being honoured
Love to All❤️

Hey @TravelodgeUK
🚨A Travelodge let someone into woman’s room to sexually assault her, then offer her £30 compensation & defend their actions!🚨
Outrageous.
Review your security procedures.
How can women stay safely in your hotels otherwise?

Ashley has been an outstanding minister and has been so in the face of extraordinary adversity.
She has achieved more as a minister than many politicians achieve in their entire careers.
I’m so sorry to lose her from our team, but proud of her decision and her impact.
Sending solidarity and thanks to LWN grad and outstanding sister, Ashley Dalton MP, who is stepping down from ministerial duties to focus on her constituency. Ashley, who is undergoing chemotherapy, introduced the government’s National Cancer Plan - an incredible achievement.
Claire Reynolds kicking off #JoCoxLeadership in style 🌹👏:
“Today you become one of 430+ women leading in Jo's name...a diverse army of feminist changemakers leading in parliament (now both Houses!), council chambers, @UKLabour, civil society, trade unions, business and beyond.”
Small clusters…big findings! Our #Type1DiabetesGrandChallenge researchers have discovered why type 1 diabetes progresses faster & can be more severe in young children - it’s linked to the size of their insulin-producing cell clusters.
These insights could lead to targeted treatments for young children at risk or living with type 1.
In this video, Teifion, from the research team explains their findings

That's what happens when you have survivors on your benches & fierce advocates at the despatch box.
We are not political footballs.

Chair @ThangamDebb, Secretary @mahil_kiran, @AnntoinetteBra1, Rosa Bolger, @EllieCumbo and @KamNagpal
Commiserations to the excellent candidates who missed out this time, and thank you for standing.
Remembering the late, great Mo Mowlam who, amongst many other things, was one of @LabourWomensNet’s first members and graduates, and who remained a supporter until her untimely death #OTD in 2005.
There were in all 21 Labour women MPs in 1945 - Barbara Castle and Freda Corbet are not in the photo. 21 was an historic high not achieved again until 1987, a fact which led directly to the foundation of @LabourWomensNet the following year. @labour_history
