@SHINEUKCharity Most UK women can’t do this because folic acid doesn’t prevent all forms of spina bifida. Most UK women don’t know the glorious lives people worth spina bifida may lead due to zilch representation. Don’t you have a more productive message in #spinabifidaawareness month? 🤢
This sort of rife undercurrent of ableism is still so apparent in the everyday of so many of us. @josierones makes me proud to be a disabled woman in everything she does. We must value & hear more of our disabled voices. The ignorance is exhausting. 💪
@CrossCountryUK I will require prior knowledge as I am travelling with a disability. Your helpline operators have stated you are not offering support to disabled people in this way. Is there no further support?
@LNER can you help me access my M-ticket which hasn’t downloaded to my wallet. Your helpline is unable to help with web purchases today? I travel tomorrow morning!
@NHSE_Diversity This is interesting, maybe mirroring some work done by many such as Liz Crow which does reconsider the role of impairment for individuals -social model works well for a large systematic understanding, but ignores impact of disability hitch is very real for individuals? #EQW2018
@NHSE_Diversity #EQW2018 Often think there is a difficulty for managers to balance between making it clear disability "isn't a big deal" versus ensuring support and understanding is established with staff. Maybe support/training for managers in having these conversations is the issue?
#EQW2018 Q3- Perhaps congenital conditions can carry the stigma for adults living with them of being attributed to childhood and stigmas of them being "defects" etc?
