I am a fat, old cat who is so great that I chose to go to the shelter and rescue a new family. I love food, hate the dog, and tolerate my humans.

On day 2 supporting the #EatonFire, our Emergency Response Team along with our animal welfare partners deployed into the burn areas to help animals left behind. Some of the calls they responded to included feeding and evacuating sheep in the Altadena area.

Fireman Jeff Clark rescued a pregnant dog from a house fire in Charlotte, North Carolina. A newspaper photographer noticed the dog in the distance looking at the fireman. He watched as the dog walked towards the fireman and wondered what was she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, the dog, a red Doberman named Cinnamon, came up to the tired fireman who had saved her life (and her unborn babies) and kissed him just as the photographer took this incredible image.

“Thursday night, I was sitting in my garage smoking a cigarette. Horrible habit, I know. 4 young men rushed me, decided they wanted my car, beat me up, and wanted my keys. I told them the keys were in the house. They decided to go in. What they weren’t expecting were my two 80lb Pit Bulls. They are sweethearts and the kindest dogs you’ll ever know, but protect their home and owner with finesse.
