@signulll As I’ve gotten older I need more peace to be able to concrete. If I’m doing deep thinking noise in a coffee shop, office or even at home makes it tough. And then other days I can pop on a banger and blast through it :) Sometimes I think it’s to do with sleep.
@humphreybc Yes, yes, yes and yes - 100% agree :) If only we cheered as much for innovation as we do for swimming, cricket or footy. Imagine what we could become.
Today’s news that OpenAI hacked the Australian government is not an isolated incident. We’re releasing more than 30,000 logs that include activity from this hack and attempts against previously unknown targets.
In this data, we found rogue agent activity stretching back to at least March, two months earlier than was previously known. This activity continues as recently as last week, suggesting it may still be ongoing 🧵

oof! So many questions: how are governments tracking security? what systems do they now need in place to combat the agent swarms to protect data? And why did it take openai a few months to spot it?

Awesome! I had to do box breathing with Claude to focus last week, standing up, stretching arms and counting to 10. It sounds ridiculous but I couldn’t think of another way to create calm.
And have been asking to share simply because it was so confusing.
This morning so far, so good.
We're all at that point when i speak to builders, myself included. Building a super feature is way more impactful than building thousands of features, just because you can.
And it's back to fundamentals: what problem are you solving, who for and why.
When I was a PM the hardest thing was saying no to the teams. Sometimes i'd be crucified for it.
And then on the other side of the fence as a GTM leader all i wanted was "more" to close more deals, or "more" to talk about in GTM.
More isn't better.
Better is simple.
Better works.
Better is when it helps your customer to grow and achieve their goals.
Build better, not more.
the right way to use model capabilities is not to ship 10x more features to prod
it's to spend more time understanding your users, trying experiments, building prototypes, learning about things you don't understand so that you can ship things that actually work
I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.
It's the week of Jev. Absolutely loving the clustering!
It was the longest waitlist form I've ever filled in, and the only one I've ever had to share my favourite meme!
“Don't Compete With the Machine
For much of the AI era, we've asked how humans can keep up with machines.
That is the wrong competition.
We aren't going to beat AI at being AI. And we shouldn't try.”
Just what I needed to read today :)
AI may not take your job.
It may take away your advantage.
When competence becomes abundant, what becomes scarce?
Your judgment. Your taste. Your perspective.
