@janetcwebsterb1 I had mine done on the NHS last year when my optician referred me to @SpaMedica. I had my assessment within two weeks, one eye operated on a week after that, and my other eye six weeks later. Amazing service from a very professional organisation, and totally free.
@jan_murray I retired from the CS in 2015. That year we had our first trans member of staff, who was treated like royalty and won a Woman of the Year award. It was all a bit of a novelty, and we mostly went along with it because it seemed harmless. If only we had known what was to come.
@mikeferdinands@HiddenYorkshire I once pulled up at a petrol station, pulled on the handbrake, and it just kept on coming out - the link had broken. Fortunately, it was a petrol station attached to a garage workshop, and they repaired it for me.
@rosegeorge3 I have been shouted down so many times that I rarely bring it up any more. Even my daughter rolls her eyes and changes the subject. I'm 73 and apparently not allowed an opinion. Doesn't stop me having one though!
@London_W4 I had a bright yellow 2CV in the 1980s. I drove into a petrol station, pulled on the handbrake, and it kept on coming out - the link had broken. I wandered into the office waving this stick with a handle, and a kind person fixed it for me.
@FlapZappa@DreyfusJames We went to his farewell tour just two days after my mother had died. Sandy Stone had me in floods of tears, it was so moving. Glad Edna was on last to cheer me up again.
@AtGeordie@DudespostingWs Yes cats do! Our new neighbours' cat is quite old and her first visit to our garden ended up with her having to be rescued. So we agreed to cut a little hole in the fence, and now she spends most of the day with us, and everyone is happy as we look after her when they are away.
@Jud1960 Absolutely - the smell of the rubber mask was horrible too. I had my first tooth out at 4 years old and clearly remember walking home with my mum with a scarf round my mouth to keep out the cold air.
Meet Mackenzie Bly (not his real name; see back cover).
I wanted to write something purely funny, but I fell in love with my lead character along the way.
It's out in August, but the lovely proofs have just arrived.
Retweet before tomorrow (Sun) evening, and I'll pick 2 winners.
