@BuzzFeed Trinity's death spoiled the third movie for me, and is the reason I only ever rewatch the first one. This goes a long way towards making up for that.
@sarahmaclean I feel safe crossing the street in NYC (from cars, though ebikes have me extra-cautious now). Where I teach in NJ, that's another story altogether.
@Luciani_Michela@AcademicsSay When I published fiction and actually got a royalty check for it, I was so confused! Wasn't I supposed to just get a free copy and an entry in my c.v.?
@Leannarenee Thanks! This was super-encouraging. Since I'm writing a mystery, I've gotten really hung up on getting all the elaborate plot mechanisms in place. And yes, I'd like to just hang out with my characters sometimes rather than worrying if the scene is advancimg things.
I'm deep in the waters of revision on the project I've been hinting at that I just ADORE and the characters have gotten to that precious point where they absolutely surprise & delight me, unfurling new paths. For me, whenever I hit a writing wall, investing time in my cast (1/ )
@tyrsalvia@RGefen@courtneymilan Sure would. I had a windfall (administrator's fee for handling a relative's estate) that enabled me to pay off my grad school loans. That extra $400 a month has changed everything. And so many younger folks are struggling with so much worse.
@TJFlamson@courtneymilan@showupforthis My Ivy League PhD set me up for years of adjuncting. Getting a non-tenure track full-time permanent job was the revised version of a happy ending, but still a financial stretch to pay the loans. Only paid them off with a windfall-- administrator's fee for my aunt's estate.
@meganireneb Actually, I spent the warmer months in summer dresses -- just as comfy as lounging clothes and made me feel much prettier. Also, never gave up jeans but don't wear skinnies; I've always stuck with straight legs.
