Yes, the majority of the Horizon Europe funds goes to “science” in the English sense of the term. And let’s hope with scientists that the govt rejoins. But you would never realise from most reports that Horizon also funds Arts & Humanities (part of “science” in European sense).
In Oxfordshire we campaigned incredibly hard for part of the Thames to gain bathing water status.
Yet Thames Water discharged sewage upstream from Port Meadow for 676 hours over Christmas.
Govt must takes urgent steps to improve regulation, so we can finally enjoy our rivers.
Just finished your #PhD and looking for a first postdoc position? Exciting opportunity to join an international collaborative project with @Hayley_s_m investigating genetic links to #DCD#dyspraxia

We've got a job open for a senior programme manager/medical writting @JennerInstitute@UniofOxford. It's a flexible role that would allow someone to apply their scientific, management and writing skills to vaccine development. https://t.co/SZ6NhMJLGY
When do you think we’ll get the first sewage free day on the Thames in 2023? I’m not holding my breath. Though you might want to if you take a walk. #ThamesSewer
We wanted to let you know about a recent sewage release at OXFORD STW. The release started at 15:00 on 11/01/2023.
We’ll notify you at 06:00 tomorrow morning if the release is still happening. https://t.co/tofkTYj18t
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the GSN 2023 meeting this week. Drinks reception from 7-9.30 pm at Caius College on Thursday 12th. Sessions start at 10 am at West Road Concert Hall on Friday 13th. Will be great to meet up person and listen to some exciting science!
The mad irony of Sunak supposedly legislating to ensure strikes cannot affect “minimum staffing levels” in the NHS.
We’ve been shouting from the rooftops for years for minimum numbers of doctors & nurses on wards.
And for 12 years the government hasn’t given a damn.
💧 I've been flooded with postcards from local people who are appalled that every day water companies poison our rivers whilst raking in multi billion pound profits. The whole thing stinks.
Govt should impose a Sewage Tax and stop letting water firms get away with it.
