@JatinderHayre_ The sad thing is there is no alternative in an emergency. You can use your savings/insurance for chronic healthcare if you are lucky to have it & relieve some of the burden for the NHS. However in an emergency your life is literally in their hands & it’s frightening.

@JatinderHayre_ Reminder that the NHS longterm work force plan will attempt to recruit over 50,000 ACPs in the next decade. Doctors will be replaced 5 times quicker with an ACP rather than by a PA. The numbers are frightening. Still no word from the @TheBMA about this impact on future doctors

First day back at work in GP following a 3 month sabbatical in Vancouver

My God, my brain is fried already.

Every patient is complex, 3 requiring urgent admission. Dealt with every specialty inc paeds, gynae, renal, gastro, derm, resp, surgical, MSK & neuro.

I’m an experienced GP of over 10 years & this clinic is testing every bit of my knowledge & training.

Genuinely beyond me how a PA with a 2 year course wouldn’t feel absolutely terrified running a GP clinic…

After a tough couple of weeks....(For many reasons)...

I was sitting on the northern line 🚇...the usual sight before me-people looking at their phones with earphones 🎧 in.... silence apart from the noise of the train rolling on the tracks...

Until the person sitting next to me says "hiya.... it's warm on here isn't it!?" 🥵

He's a fellow non Londoner...he asked about my job and what I do...he empathised ...he shared his understanding for how hard it is for us in education because his wife works in schools......

I ask about his job and he says "I'm the innovation director at Warburtons".....

I mean this was enough for me to completely malfunction...this has to be the best job in the world.(second to headship of course!)..

For the next 10 minutes we chat away until he says....

"Are you on LinkedIn?....give me your details and I'll send your school a few bits"

A few days later.... I'm informed by my office staff that there had been a delivery of 3 boxes....

The contents were... you've guessed it.... @Warburtons products.... products we gave out to our families.....some families who need this more than you can imagine!

This one single act if kindness has reduced (although only for a short time) stress and worry for some about where their next meals are coming from!
