#ReclaimTheseStreets organisers are encouraging people to "shine a light" in a doorstep vigil across the country at 9.30 tonight
"To remember Sarah Everard and all women affected by and lost to violence" @ReclaimTS 🕯️ https://t.co/xGjhYLCytK
Police, if there is a threat to women in the area the public messaging should be for MEN to stay home.
If saying this alarms you, welcome to the reality of being a woman whereby your freedoms are constantly restricted by #maleviolence and men's inability to help tackle it.
Police could much better support victims if there was a stand-alone offence of Non-Fatal Strangulation. 80% of survivors are likely to have a resulting health problem e.g. stroke or PTSD. The Lords should amend the Domestic Abuse Bill to fix this.
#NonFatalStrangulation
For the 20,000 victims of non-fatal strangulation and suffocation, I urge Parliamentarians to take action now and amend the Domestic Abuse Bill. This needs to be a stand-alone offence. If this opportunity is missed women will die.
#NonFatalStrangulation
Domestic Abuse survivors of Non-Fatal Strangulation are 7 times more likely to be killed by their partner or ex-partner. A new Non-Fatal Strangulation offence would help these victims. I urge those in the House of Lords to support Helen Newlove’s amendment

Well, that's that. Thanks to everyone who came. A wonderful tour. Humbled by the warmth of the response after all these years. All good things....
