What a blessing to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with 14 wonderful young Catholics at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie on Sunday, October 25!

During my homily, I reflected on the two greatest commandments: to love God with all our hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves. I reminded everyone that the more we love, the more love grows. In a world often marked by loneliness and division, we are called to build relationships rooted in compassion, forgiveness, and respect.

I especially encouraged our newly confirmed brothers and sisters to put their faith into action through parish ministry, evangelization, and service to others. Confirmation is not the end of the journey, but a renewed invitation to become active disciples of Jesus Christ!

It was also a joy to celebrate alongside our parish clergy and the priests of the local Vietnamese Catholic mission, the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

My heartfelt gratitude to Father Tri Pham, Pastor; Mrs. Mary Acevedo, Director of Religious Education; and the entire Holy Family parish community for their warm welcome and dedication to our young people.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide these 14 newly confirmed Catholics as they grow in faith, love, and service!

Я знаю, как страшно неделями не получать писем, не знать, здоров ли твой любимый человек, что с ним происходит. Мечтать о встрече. Мечтать хотя бы услышать голос в трубке.

И я представляю, через что проходят люди, которые сидят в тюрьме. Что для них значит свидание, передача, звонок, письмо. Любая весточка, любой знак, что о тебе помнят, придает им сил.

Сегодня в российских тюрьмах оказались тысячи людей, преследуемых по политическим мотивам. Журналисты, активисты, учителя, врачи — обычные люди, которые выступили против войны. А еще у них есть близкие, которым тоже нелегко — родители, которые ждут своих детей домой, дети, которые растут без пап и мам, мужья и жены, которые годами живут в ожидании.

Алексей всегда говорил о политических заключенных. Даже когда сам оказался в тюрьме, он продолжал думать о других. Писал, поддерживал, призывал не забывать и помогать.

Поэтому сегодня я прошу вас: поддержите политических заключенных.
