@SimonCalder I would also add that although I ticked the box to confirm i had 6 months remaining on my passport, i only had 5 months and flew without any problems. Thank you Simon, you said it would be ok and it was :)
@SimonCalder just returned home from Dublin with Ryanair... the queues in the airport were horrendous and took us over an hour to pass through security, so would advise anyone travelling from there to arrive as early as possible.
@SimonCalder Thank you Simon, yes I am flying with Ryanair, I was just panicking that my passport didn't have 6 months left at the end. Appreciate your response :)
Hi there Simon, what about travel to Ireland? My passport expires 21 Aug 2023 but was issued 21 Nov 2012... I plan to travel end of May for a couple of days...
@DebLeese@hemelhempsted That is exactly what I have been saying for many months, because it is true.
You can happily travel to the European Union today with a passport issued on 14 May 2012, if it has 3 months until the expiry date on the day you plan to leave the EU. All here:

The ONLY places on earth that care when your passport was issued are nations in the EU and wider Schengen Area. Every other country just wants your expiry date to be compliant.
