During Catholic Schools Week, I had the blessing of visiting St. Theresa School in Kenilworth, NJ, during the Triduum of St. John Bosco, the apostle of youth. This school is staffed by the Salesian Sisters, which he founded with St. Mary Mazzarello. The morning began with Mass in the parish Church in honor of St. John Bosco. Then, I visited the classrooms of each grade in the school. Thanks to Sr. Marisa DeRose, FMA (Principal) and Father Giovanni Rizzo (Pastor) for the invitation. During Catholic Schools Week, Don Bosco offers the following advice: “If we want to have a good society, we must concentrate all our forces on the Christian education of the young. Experience has taught me that if we wish to sustain civil society then we should take good care of the young.”
To mark Catholic Schools Week, the @USCCB released a series of videos in which bishops reflect upon the gift of Catholic education.
🙏 "Education is really evangelization," said Bishop David M. O’Connell of the Diocese of Trenton. #CSW2026@NCEATALK https://t.co/6VJBy1V4gx
