On the same day a team editorial at @sdutOpinion on the ICE protests was pulled, my position as deputy editor was suddenly eliminated. Thanks 🙏🏽 to the SD community for allowing me to lift your voices. My next chapter TBA. I won’t be silenced and neither should you. 💪🏽
For those hitting the ocean and waves this summer.
This is really simple. You can spot a rip current. Unfortunately, it's where it looks easiest and safest to enter the sea. This is because the rip current is looping around and pulling back OUT. Hence no waves rolling IN. NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE. If you are already in the sea and get caught in a rip current (you'll know because you will suddenly be moved from your location and it will be impossible to swim against it) don't panic. Swim ACROSS, not against the rip current. For example, rather than trying to swim to shore while being pushed out, swim parallel to the beach and you will be able to get out. Then you can swim ashore. Please educate friends or family visiting the beaches this summer. Stay safe 🙏🛟🏖️
It’s crazy because Megan’s hitting on issues that are local to the ATL area during an election year and she doesn’t even realize it 😭 like yes, advocacy!
The Corral Fire in Tracy has burned more than 11k acres and is only 13% contained at the time I’m posting this.
Families fled their homes and brought belongings and livestock with them, without any certainty they’ll have a home to return to.
This fire is massive and moved fast.
We've got #SNOW in Western WA right now. ❄️❄️
Just ask @FarahJadran, one of the hardest working reporter/anchors in the biz...
