It's Virtual Mappa Time!
You know, the digital medieval maps project I spent some really brilliant years working on at the BL? It's back on the new DM 2.0 platform and looking great!
Take a look at this thread from @digitalmappa for a project overview, plus links to explore...
Another long shot, but we’ve just heard while on hols that Rosie has escaped from our cat sitter, so if any #Sheffield people could share and keep an eye out, we’d be very grateful.
I should be a bit more capable of actual conversation from this afternoon now my paper’s out of the way, so anyone I owe a chat to, flag me down!
(For the record, I think 9am sessions are ableist as fuck but maybe that’s just me...)
Ok then! Thanks so much to everyone who came along to the session this morning, I’ve just had a little nap to recover from the early start. I don’t think I convinced everyone of my Big Claims but thanks for not absolutely bodying me in the questions 😹 #LeedsIMC#mappings
The other papers were fascinating, but I’ll have to watch them back to absorb the detail because I’m not entirely sure if my entire brain was present? I can’t actually remember what I said. Maybe this was a little too soon after my surgery for giving a paper, but it’s done now...
And the stretch where the Crossley name comes from - ‘Ebden Bridge etc - I went for @landshapesband’s Rambutan for the first time in a while. Final final section is gonna go to @sisterwivesband’s Y Gawres, wrth gwrs :)
Alrighty then, barely on Twitter these days since the Elongated Muskrat takeover, but as it’s time for the Great Medievalist Migration (UK edition), I should probably note that I am On My Way to @IMC_Leeds !
Find me excitedly babbling about #medieval#maps on Tuesday morning!
@curataceae @hagenilda Was just gonna say, I think I’ve grown one of those accidentally in a flowerpot, it’s much older and less happy than yours but the stem colour/leaves/spines seems right?
