“One lesson stands out above all others: when we fight, we win!"
After a months-long strike, @AMPL_AMPD has an agreement with McGill whereby the challenges to AMPL's certification and the unionization of other faculties will be dropped.

As required by the Memorandum of Understanding, @mcgillu dropped its action to decertify our union today. This attempt to decertify us was a central reason we gave for our strike since the beginning. See: https://t.co/kIhtvUpvD2
"In an upbeat statement, AMPL President Evan Fox-Decent said, “This is a win for everyone at McGill. Through our first collective agreement, we will set a pattern that will serve all McGill professors, students, and staff into the future.” https://t.co/Db6DVSBysq via @mtlgazette

This year will be an active one for academic staff associations. We are committed to supporting our members demanding fair compensation, collegial governance, and, as with @AMPL_AMPD, the basic right to form a union and bargain collectively.

Solidarity is a beautiful thing. Proud to have our incoming President, Ash Hossain, there as part of this effort and show of support.

We are watching for @YorkUniversity forcing @YUFAyorku to go on strike. We are also watching @mcgillu forcing us to strike at the start of the academic year.
Let me be very clear: @KUCFA do NOT want to strike.
But faculty working conditions are student learning conditions. Those conditions matter.
We are seeking protections for academic freedom and to strengthen our programs so we can do the job that students expect.
