If R31 million in public spending is "not a lot of money" because it's government money, then South Africans are entitled to ask an obvious question:

Why does the same government prosecute people accused of stealing thousands or millions of rand?

Public money isn't "nobody's money"—it's taxpayers' money. Every rand should be treated with accountability, whether it's R3,000, R300,000 or R31 million.

Leadership starts with respecting public funds, not dismissing concerns about how they're spent. South Africans deserve transparency, accountability and leaders who understand that every rand matters 🇿🇦💸
